Re: Do you still have sod in stock?

Thank you. I made a mess of my yard with fertilizer after I did a de-thatching/scarifying.

Killed most of the grass. Foolish move.
Would you recommend sod now or wait til spring?

God Bless,

Pamela Israel

Hi how much are your tower poplars? Do you have a bulk discount for 10 or more?

We have a couple of Tower poplars in stock. They are in 5gal pots for $84.99 each. Unfortunately, they are not available to be ordered at this time.
Possible substitutes are:
Swedish Aspen – 2gal pot $34.99 each. 5gal pot $84.99 each.
Prairie Sky Poplar – 2gal pot $34.99 each. 5gal pot $84.99 each.
Guardian Aspen – 5gal pot $84.99 each. 7gal pot $119.99

We could offer a 20% discount on a bulk order of 10 or more plants. Please note discounted items do not have warranty.

I just wanted to send a message to the owners of this great green house. While I enjoy coming to your establishment I am very disappoint with the service from the landscape manager. I asked for a quote May 23, 2025. The manager was very slow to ge

Hi Gimlifinn,

The “ask the gardener” page probably isn’t the best page to send this concern to. You have run out of room on the sheet that gets sent to the store to answer. The best place to go would be to call the store and let us know your concern so we can try and see where we failed you and why the manager has seemingly not gotten back to you. Feel free to call Ray DuBois the owner at 204-999-3508 directly and he can try and help you get this rectified. Thank you for reaching out.

My rose buds dries up before fully bloom

Rose buds drying up before blooming is a phenomenon often referred to as “rose balling,” and is typically caused by a combination of wet conditions and subsequent heat. When a rosebud gets saturated with water, often during a rainy period, and then is quickly followed by a hot, sunny day, the outer petals can dry out and fuse together, creating a tight, papery shell that prevents the bud from opening.

HiI’m looking for a fast-growing, privacy-giving tree to plant in some rocky sparse & slanted soil at lake of the woods, in near full sun. I’ve been told that Chinese Elm is hearty & would work. Do you agree? Is there anything else you’d recommend? Wh

No one grows Chinese Elm here – too much seed. Also not sure if hardy.

Discovery Elm (Japanese) would be fine – there’s some 7 gallons available there.

Other suggestions:

-Patmore/Brandon/American Elm types
-Linden
-Ming Amur Cherry
-Klondike Amur Cherry
-Amur Maple

bathroom remodel question

Hey, I was looking for remodeling contractors in the area and was going to give you a call at 204-257-2893, but I thought that email might work best for you.

I wanted to reach out because my team and I help remodeling contractors land a couple of extra bathroom and/or kitchen remodeling jobs every month.

Mind if I break down how we do it in a second email?

Thanks,
Kendra Hollis
