Laxton’s Progress is very dependable and productive pea variety! It yields a good number of 10-12.5 cm (4-5″) pods with 8-10 large, sweet peas. This is one of the earliest maturing peas, growing in a dwarf habit under a wide range of conditions.

Preparation Ideas: Shell peas and rinse under cold water. Place peas and add water until peas are covered. Bring water to boil and reduce heat. Cover and simmer peas until fork tender (approximately 1 minute). Drain and add butter, salt, and pepper to taste.

Days to Maturity: 55 to 60 days

Planting Depth: 2.5 cm (1″)

Growing Height: 45 cm (18″)

Instructions: Sow seed directly in the garden as soon as ground can be worked and danger of frost has passed. Well drained fertile soil is best. Apply Garden Inoculant to increase yields.

Suggestions: Successive sowings every two weeks until early June, while the soil is still relatively cool, will prolong the harvest season.
