This Japanese Hubbard type is also known as Orange Hakkaido.  A red-orange winter Kabocha squash that bears tear-dropped shaped fruit 1.8-2.7 kg (4-6lbs) and 17.5-25cm (7-10″) in diameter.  The versatile cream-coloured firm flesh is excellent roasted and delicious when used for pies, purees or soup.  Stores well.
