McKenzie Seed Asian Vegetables – Perilla Red

Also known as Shiso, Perilla is one of the most commonly used herbs in Japanese cooking. The frilly-edged leaves are sharply flavored, similar to anise and can be used for seasoning, pickling ginger and garnishing. The seeds from the flower buds can be sprinkled on salads or used in rice.
