Description

Standard Dwarf Bearded Iris have similar flowers to the more familiar Tall Bearded Iris, but on a dwarf plant that blooms much earlier. A good choice for the rock garden, or as an edging at the front of the border. Prefers a warm sunny site with good drainage. Easier to grow, and generally tougher than the Tall Bearded Irises. This selection has flowers in shades of soft to deep blue. Clumps may be easily divided every 3 to4 years in August. Drought tolerant once established. Dwarf bearded Iris are also often described as I. pumila.
